OBJECTIVES

The international seminar on livestock and wildlife in arid and
desert zones SIEFAD2025 organized by the Laboratoire Elevage et
Faune Sauvage of the Institut des Régions Arides de Médenine
and its partners has the following main objectives
1- Understand and enhance the biological adaptations of domestic
and wild animal species to arid and desert environments to improve
their resilience and management.
2- Analyze trends in livestock and wildlife in the face of environmental,
economic and social constraints.
3- Promote innovative and sustainable breeding practices, reconciling
productivity and respect for the environment.
4- Exchange ideas and disseminate knowledge to enhance the value of
research results.

* Biology, behavior and animal health in the face of climate change:
– Animal behavior
– Animal welfare
– Physiological adaptations to stress
– Analysis of epidemiological risks and improvement of intervention
methods against existing and emerging diseases
* Breeding, performance and genetic improvement:
– Controlling reproduction
– Genetic improvement of domestic species
– Individual performance and productivity
– Quality and diversification of livestock production chains
* Wild animal species management and integration with human
activities
– Diversity and management of rare, threatened and invasive species.
– Impacts of human activities and climate change on biodiversity
* Rangelands and valorization of local and alternative food
resources
– Effects of climate change on forage production and animal nutrition
– Innovations to optimize local resources.
* Technological innovations and Artificial Intelligence for
sustainable livestock management and wildlife conservation.

SCHEDULE SIEFAD 2025
– June 30, 2025: Deadline for submitting abstracts in Word (.doc)
format bearing the author’s name (in accordance with the
Template).
– July-August 2025: review of abstracts by the scientific committee.
– 1st September 2025: announcement of selected contributions
and publication of the provisional program.
– September 25, 2025: registration closes
– October 20, 2025: publication of the final program.
– November 4, 5 and 6, 2025: SIEFAD in Djerba management and wildlife conservation.
